Jellyfish Splashers | Reusable Water Balloons

Measurements: 4.5”width x 7”

Gauge: 4sts x4 rows= 2 x2”

Materials:

20 yards of Universal Bella Chenille

US K/ 6.5mm Hook

Optional, Polyfill

Abbreviations US TERMS:

ch= chain

st(s)= stitch(es)

sl st= slip stitch

sc= single crochet

special stitch instruction:

bpsc= back post single crochet

Insert hook from behind into the stitch, insert hook into the next st, yarn over and pull through both stitches, yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook

sc dec= single crochet decrease

Insert hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, insert hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook


Begin with a circle start; ch 3, sl st to the first ch to create a loop/circle,

Rnd 1: ch 1, 9 sc into the circle, sl st to the 1st st (9)

Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 sc into each st, sl st to the 1st st (18)

Rnd 3: ch 1, sc in each st, sl st to the 1st st (18)

Rnd 4: repeat row 3

Rnd 5: repeat row 3

Rnd 6: ch 1, bpsc in each st, sl st to the 1st st (18)

Rnd 7: ch 1, sc dec around until you have 4 sts (4)


Tentacles

ch 10, turn,working back down the ch, 2 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in the next 8 sts (18)

sl st in the next st, ch 14, turn, working back down the ch, 2 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in the next 12 sts (26)

skip st, sl st, ch 18, turn, working back down the ch, 2 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in the next 16 sts (34)

sl st to the bottom of the first st, finish off and leave a 6-8” tail to sew the bottom of the jellyfish to the top of the jellyfish, knot and sew in the ends.


Optional: before sewing the jelly fish bottom and top together, you can stuff the body through the open hole on the jelly fish underside. This will allow even more water to be held. If you stuff the jellyfish be sure to sew the underside opening closed.
